Some Lesser Known Facts About Vinod Bhanushali
Vinod Bhanushali is an Indian businessman and film and music producer, who has served as the president of Global Marketing, Media, and Publishing at T-Series. He is the founder of Bhanushali Studios Limited and Hitz Music Llp.
His daughter Dhvani Bhanushali has sung several popular songs including āDilbarā (2018) in collaboration with Neha Kakkar and Ikka Singh , āIshtehaarā (2018) with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan , and āVaasteā (2020) with Nikhil DāSouza .
At the beginning of his career, Bhanushali worked as a clearing and forwarding agent at Mumbai Customs.

Vinodās work was first recognized by Gulshan Kumar , founder of Super Cassettes (T-Series), while he was working as an associate junior worker for Sahara Movie Studios. Gulshan Kumar was impressed by his work and one day, he asked Vinod to come along with him.

In November 1994, he offered Vinod to work with T-Series. Initially, he did all the tasks that Gulshan Kumar asked him to do.
Vinod dedicatedly spent his time working for Gulshan Kumar at T-Series. He was a member of the production crew, and most of his duties included scheduling shoot dates for films and music videos, setting up the necessary logistics, and communicating with the directors, producers, and musicians (for music videos). In an interview, he said,
The process of creation, and creating an IP! Thatās where it got into my DNA. The thought of creating something from air and being a part of the process of creating something so beautiful made me feel excited and gave me a sense of satisfaction! The feeling of being proud of something after it became successful, and having the honour of being a part of it, that was my drive!ā
Vinod became part of the marketing team at T-Series between late 1996 to early 1997. He was initially tasked with getting T-Seriesā songs on Channel [V] India. Sukhwinder Singhās song Billo was rejected numerous times before it was finally broadcasted on Channel [V] India. Later, he rose through the ranks at T-Series to become president of global marketing, media publishing, and content acquisition.
With time, Gulshan Kumar began to confide in Vinod Bhanushali. In an interview, Vinod admitted that he often questioned why Gulshan would put his trust in someone as inexperienced and young as Vinod. He gave his own response, remembering his fatherās remarks,
Heere Ki Parakh Sirf Johar Ko Hoti Hai (Only a jeweller can truly identify a (real) diamond).ā
In August 2021, Vinod Pradhan Bhanushali resigned from T-Series after working there for 27 years.
In 2021, he founded his own production house, Bhanushali Studios Limited.

In an interview, he expressed his gratitude to Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar while talking about his resignation and said,
Whatever I know about music and films, I have learnt it all during my sole long innings in this company. Iāll forever be obliged to my mentor, Gulshan Kumar Ji, and Bhushan Kumar for giving me a platform and directing me to perform and grow from strength to strength along with the company.ā

Vinod held the position of director of Aum Advertising And Media Private Limited on 1 October 2021. Furthermore, Vinod Bhanushali was appointed as a designated partner at Big Umbrella Licensing & Distribution Llp (on 03 August 2021), Hitz Music Llp (on 20 September 2021), Hifi Digi Advertising Solutions Llp (01 October 2021), and Body Corporate DP Nominee (22 October 2021).
According to Vinod, Gulshan Kumar was a magician who assisted the āuncreative Vinodā in becoming the person he is today. He compared himself to Eklavya while making a reference to the Mahabharata and said that the late producer transformed him into an Arjun. Talking about it, he said,
Being a non-creative person, learning the process and being a part of it all was my favourite part. Gulshan Kumar Ji to me was a magician! He created something out of air, and I always learned by his ways of thinking. I always looked upto him in more than many ways. I called myself Eklavya, and he was my guru. I am glad, and proud to say today, Eklavya turned into Arjun.ā
For the Bollywood film Thappad (2020), Vinod was nominated for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award under the category of Best Asian Film together with three other producers, Anubhav Sinha , Bhushan Kumar , and Krishan Kumar.
In an interview, Vinod said that after the demise of Gulshan Kumar, he was completely shattered and thought that he had lost his career. He also said he felt blind since he had lost his guiding light. Talking about it, he said,
It was a day of mourning, when the entire company was lost somewhere, felt helpless after loosing their leader. Everything changed! It was almost like an end to a dream. For me I lost my guiding light, and now I am blind. Gulshan Kumar Ji was someone who held my hand, made me walk, made me run and always showed me the direction to run in. He always gave me a vision, showed me the finish line and it was always on me as to how I wanted to reach there. I was completely shattered, thinking my career is gone, and didnāt know what to do. And then Bhushan Kumar (Son of Late Gulshan Kumar) at the age of 19 years took over the company. And we had to start over!ā
Vinod Bhanushali was involved in the production of several Bollywood films including Airlift (2016), Kabir Singh (2019), Batla House (2019), Thappad (2020), Haseen Dillruba (2021), Janhit Mein Jaari (2022), and Main Atal Hoon (releasing in December 2023).
