  • Narayan played both football and basketball and represented Maharashtra at national tournaments.

  • Narayan featured in 9 international matches between 1956 and 1964 for the Indian football team.

  • Despite being born in the Palakkad district of Kerala, he spent most of his career in Bombay and even represented Bombay in the Santosh Trophy in 1956 and Maharashtra in 1964.

  • Narayan was part of the team which participated in the Olympic Games of 1956 and 1960. He was also part of the team which came fourth in the 1958 Asian Games and finished second in the 1964 AFC Asian Cup.
