In the season 2015-16, Anirudh won the U19 I-league as a captain of the AIFF Elite Academy; he played 14 games and scored three goals.
In 2016, he went to the French Ligue 2 side, FC Metz for a short training stint. The training program was sponsored by Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC.

Anirudh’s debut for Chennaiyin FC came against FC Goa on 1 December 2016. It was the last match of the season, which ended in a 5-4 loss for his side.
He scored his first professional goal of his career for the club Minerva Punjab (now Punjab FC) in the I-League against Mumbai FC on 4 February 2017.
