Controversy Sentenced to two years in Jail:
On 17 February 2017, Santoshi was sentenced to two year jail by a senior civil judge at Jamnagar in a check bounce case. According to the original complaint against the filmmaker, an industrialist claimed that he lent Rs. 2 crore to Rajkumar to make a film and later the filmmaker gave him 10 cheques of Rs 10 lakh each. After the 10 cheques were returned due to lack of funds in the bank account, the industrialist had issued a legal notice under the Negotiable Instruments Act in 2017 after Santoshi was not able to return the money. Raj Santoshi later filed an appeal against the original verdict and was granted a bail. check sources
