| Controversies | ā¢ Charged for violating the FEMA norms: A congress leader, Bakka Judson, registered a complaint to ED (Enforcement Directorate) against Puri Jagannadh and his business partner Charmme Kaur clamming that the money invested by them in the film āLigerā was black. After investigation it was found that the money invested in the film was first sent to Dubai and later returned as funding for the film. Later, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur were charged by ED for violating the FEMA norms. ā¢ Commented on the idea of marriage: In September 2020, in his podcast show āPuri Musings,ā Puri Jagannadh called the marriage an āoutdatedā idea, and said that one should not marry if wanted to achieve bigger goals in life. Some Lessor Known Facts About Puri Jagannadh
Puri Jagannadh is an Indian filmmaker. He has done more than forty films in the Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada film industries.
He started assisting the filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma in various Telugu films soon after completing his studies.
In 1989, he made a special appearance in the song āBotanyā from the film āShivaā starring Nagarjuna . It was his first appearance on screen.
In 2002, he launched Puneeth Rajkumar in his Kannada film āAppuā which later proved a breakthrough for the actor.

After making his directorial debut with the Telugu language film āBadriā in 2000, he directed various Telugu films among which the most notable include āAmma Nanna O Tamila Ammayiā (2003), ā143ā (2004), āPokiriā (2006), āHeart Attackā (2014), āMehboobaā (2018), and āiSmart Shankarā (2019).
His Bollywood debut film āShart: The Challengeā (2004) (as director) was a remake of his directorial debut film āBadri.ā
In 2011, he worked as a director and story writer for the Bollywood film āBbuddahā¦ Hoga Terra Baapā starring Amitabh Bachchan , which was later archived in the Oscar library.

Apart from filmmaking, Jagannadh also tried his hand at acting. In 2012, he appeared as a taxi driver in the Telugu film āBusinessman,ā as a biker in the film āTemper,ā and as Govardhan in the blockbuster film āGodfatherā (2022).
He made a cameo appearance in various films including āYe Maaya Chesaveā (2010), āIsmā (2016), āiSmart Shankarā (2019), and āLigerā (2022).
His 2022 film āLigerā was made in two languages, Hindi and Telugu. Later, the film was also dubbed into Tamil Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
He owns three production companies, Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies, Vaishno Academy, and Puri Connects, along with Charmme Kaur, a former actor.
He also owns a music company named Puri Sangeet.
