Prashanthini is an Indian playback singer, the daughter of singer Malaysia Vasudevan and sister of singer Yugendran Vasudevan . She is well-known for singing songs in Tamil films.
She started singing at events at a very young age.

She gained popularity after she lent her voice to the song ‘Mundhinam Parthene’ from the 2008 Tamil film ‘Varanam Aayiram.’

Some of her tracks that have been featured on the top 20 popular songs list on FM radio include ‘Ayyayo’ from the Tamil ‘Aadukalam’ (2011), ‘Lolita’ from the Tamil film ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ (2011), and ‘Enamo Aedho’ from the Tamil film ‘Ko’ (2011).
In 2015, she sang the songs ‘Ennavo Panuthey’ and ‘Agaramodu Lagaram’ from the Tamil romantic thriller film ‘Maha Maha.’
In 2023, her brother, Yugendran , appeared as a contestant in the Tamil reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ season 7, which aired on Star Vijay and Disney+ Hotstar.

In an interview, while discussing her career as a singer, she shared,
My dad was very keen that I complete my education and learn the basics of music before becoming a full-fledged playback singer. After completing my bachelor’s in computer science, I got married and seven years after 12B, my next song was in GV Prakash’s Veyil (Iraivanai…). And from then, there was no looking back as I worked with Yuvan Shankar Raja. It was Harris Jayaraj’s Mundhinam Partheney… in Vaaranam Aayiram that gave me a new lease of life.”
