| Controversy | In 2018, Hayma Malini joined the individuals accusing lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual harassment. Hayma came forward and shared the incident of Vairamuthu sexually harrassing her after singer Chinmayi 's allegations of her sexual harassment by Vairamuthu, adding to the growing #MeToo movement in the entertainment industry. In a Facebook post, she talked about her sexual harassment and wrote, "When I was in Sun Music, I have personally witnessed Vairamuthu trying to get fresh with one of the young presenters… And I have spoken about him in many stages more than 10 years ago! Hayma Malini is a Singaporean radio presenter and TV producer, who is the wife of the Indian singer Yugendran Vasudevan , son of Malaysian-origin Tamil playback singer-actor Malaysia Vasudevan.
Her grandparents are of Sri Lankan origin.
In 1993, she started working as a cabin crew with Singapore Airlines; however, by 1994, she had left her job. In 1999, she relocated to Sri Lanka and started working at Colombo Communications.
Hayma Malini has won several beauty pageant titles in Singapore and has represented Singapore on the international stage. In 1994, she secured the Miss Singapore Intercontinental title and represented Singapore in Germany. Throughout her career, she won numerous titles, including Miss Model in 1995 and Miss Singapore Tourism in 1997. She has also had the honour of representing Singapore in various countries, such as Turkey, Macau, and the USA.

In 1999, her husband, Yugendran, performed at the launch of a Tamil radio station in Sri Lanka called ‘Swarna Oli,’ where she met him for the first time
Hayma Malini started her journey as a Radio Jockey (RJ) by working at Oli 96.8FM. She has been awarded Singapore Channel’s most beloved host for three consecutive times. She also became a prominent host on Star Vijay TV, where she hosted the Tamil reality singing competition ‘Super Singer’ in 2009.

In 2007, she took part in the Mrs. Singapore Globe beauty pageant in America.
In 2009, she became a host of another Tamil reality TV show, ‘En Aasai Unnoduthan,’ which aired on Jaya TV. Along with her stints on Jaya TV, she worked as a host across various TV networks, including Kalaingar TV and Sun TV.
Hayma Malini, along with Yugendran, established a company called Rambutan Productions in India and Rambutan Media Works in Singapore. They have produced many television programs for India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka through his company. Some of the Singaporean TV shows produced by the couple under Rambutan Media Works include ‘Endrendrum Punnagai,’ ‘Sollathan Ninaikirain’ (talk show), and ‘Vidumurai Vasantham’ (holiday variety).
In 2023, her husband, Yugendran, appeared as a contestant in the Tamil reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ season 7, which aired on Star Vijay and Disney+ Hotstar.
