Nirmal Kakar is an Indian singer who is known for being the mother of popular singers Sukriti Kakar , Akriti Kakar and Prakriti Kakar .
After completing her graduation in Hindustani vocal music, she worked as a music teacher at Bal Bharti Public School, Pusa Road, New Delhi. Later, she shifted to Mumbai with her husband and daughters.
Her elder daughter Akriti is known for her songs, âSaturday Saturdayâ from the film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and âIski Uskiâ from 2 States (2014). She was a judge on Zee Banglaâs Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Liâl Champs (2014).
Her daughter Sukriti is known for recording the title song from the film âBossâ (2013) composed by Meet Bros which featured Honey Singh.
Her daughter Prakriti is popular for releasing songs in collaboration with Ankit Tiwari including âKatra Katraâ from Alone (2015) and âBheegh Loonâ from Khamoshiyan (2015). She and her twin sister Sukriti released independent music videos including âSudhar Jaâ, âMafiyaanâ, âKehndi Haa Kehndi Naaâ, âHum Tumâ, âSona Lagdaâ, and âMajnuâ.
She appeared in the music series âBig Band Theoryâ (2023) with her daughters and sang the song âMaavan Te Dheeyan.â The song is based on the bonding between a mother and a daughter. In an interview, Nirmal said that they got very emotional while recording the song.

It was difficult at first, but the goal was to make Big Band Theory happen, and gradually, everyone started coming together. When I called Shankar ji, he sensed my nervousness and said he wouldnât ask what it was about, but his answer was a definite âyesâ. After agreeing to be a part of it, he learned about the idea.â

In an interview, Nirmal said that she used to take her eldest brother to the parents-teacher meeting and tell them that he was his father because they had a huge age difference.
According to her daughter Akriti, she said that her mother had OCD. In the interview, she added that her mother never takes care of herself and is always busy in taking care of the family.
