He began his career doing drama professionally. After some time, he decided to pursue his career in movies.
Mukesh began his filmy career in 1982, with the movie “Balloon.” This movie got average response from the audience.
 Mukesh was a close friend with Mohanlal and played many supporting roles for his movies, such as Hello My Dear Wrong Number, Thalavattam, Vandanam, Akkare Akkare Akkare, Kakkakuyil and Boeing Boeing. The actor was known for the slapstick comedy characters he performed in the movies.
