Controversies | ⢠KRSNA Accused IPL and Disney+ Hotstar In 2020, KRSNA alleged IPL and Disney+ Hotstar of permitting the plagiarism of his 2017 song titled "Dekh Kaun Aaya Wapas" when creating the 2020 IPL anthem "Ayenge Hum Wapas." In response to this, the composer of IPL anthem Pranav Ajayrao Malpe denied the allegations and said that it is his original work and he even has a certificate from Music Composers Association of India (MCAI). KRSNA then stated thathis team and the independent hip-hop label Kalamkaar will take the legal route and approach Disney+ Hotstar, which commissioned the song and was quoted saying in an interview that "Disney+Hotstar have left no option for us but to seek legal recourse and our label is going to fight this unfair and scandalous plagiarisation." ⢠KRSNA and Emiway In 2023, Indian rapper Emiway claimed that he was the only rapper representing Indiaâs beef culture and released a song titled âChusambaâ which was a diss aimed at KRSNA and Raftaar . In response, KRSNA released a track titled âLil Bunty" which was a reply to Emiway's song. Both the rappers went back and forth by releasing different diss tracks that aimed at eachother. |

Some Lesser Known Facts About KRSNA
KRSNA was raised by his parents in a Kashmiri Pandit family.
KRSNAâs childhood photo
Soon after his birth, he moved to London with his parents and thatâs where he completed his schooling and spent about 4 years.
KRSNA was a car enthusiast as a child and used to draw BMW logos on the back of his books.
During his time in London, he used to witness the rap culture which was popular in London. KRSNA started getting interested in it and started doing rap as a hobby.
KRSNA turned his hobby of rap into passion when he was just 14 years old and thatâs when he started professionally writing rap as well.
He faced a rough time during his school days in London because the school that he used to study was comprised of 80% black students. KRSN used to witness brutal fights where rival gangs often used weapons to fight each other which created a challenging environment for non-affiliated students like him.
In order to stay protected from racism, KRSNA wanted to blend in with his other schoolmates so that they wouldnât bully him and thatâs why he started taking an interest in their interests and connecting with the culture and people of South London. His interest in rapping grew leading him to participate in rap battles competitively.
The first ever rap song that KRSNA learnt was Snoop Doggâs song titled âWho Am I? (Whatâs My Name?).â
He was 18 years old when he recorded himself for the first time.
In 2006, KRSNA released a remix version of the American rapper Eminemâs song titled âBitch Please II.â KRSNA did his feature in the song as well.
After completing his schooling, he came back to Delhi to pursue his graduation and after completion, KRSNA moved to Mumbai for his post-graduation.
When he reached Mumbai in 2007-2008, he had prepared 4-5 demo songs with the goal of selling those songs to a big music label. He went to one of the music labels and was told by an executive of that company that his songs sounded âtoo internationalâ for India. KRSNA then applied and started working as an intern at the same music label in order to learn the difference between his writing of rap and Indian rap.
During his internship days, the same executive that rejected KRSNAâs songs was leaving the company and before leaving he gave KRSNA back his own CD of songs that he handed over to the executive and thatâs when KRSNA got to know that his songs were never opened and heard by the company or the executive and they were just rejected based on assumptions of being âtoo international.â
In 2009, he released his song titled âYellow Taxiâ which featured other artists as well including Rabbit Sack C, Big T, and Slim Neil.
In 2010, KRSNA uploaded a song titled âKaisa Mera Deshâ on his YouTube channel and after uploading he went to sleep. The next morning when he woke up, he was surprised to see the reaction to his song. It became the first Indian hip-hop song on YouTube and earned a #2 ranking as one of the most-watched music videos in India overnight following its release.
