| Controversy | • Hit and run case In April 2015, Kavita Jain's car ran over two brothers riding a motorbike, which left them severly injured. The victim's family alleged that they were able to file a FIR only after continuously requesting the police for 2 days. The family claimed that they were being pressurised not to file any complaint and settle the matter directly with the minister. Some Lesser Known Facts About Kavita Jain
In August 2012, Kavita Jain led a protest against the district administration of Sonipat after it was announced that 55,000 families, which were previously registered under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) list, would be removed.

During the protest, she demanded a new survey should be carried out, and a re-inclusion of actual beneficiaries should be made so that poor families could be benefitted under various BPL schemes.
From 2014 to 2019, Kavita Jain was the only female legislator in the Haryana assembly.
In 2019, Kavita Jain contested the Haryana assembly elections from the Sonipat constituency but lost to Surender Panwar of the Indian National Congress by 32,878 votes. It was her third time in a row contesting for the same seat.
