Although he was good at singing, he never planned to be a singer. It was his music professor, Narender Dhiman who noticed his talent and encouraged him to sing.
Gill bagged the second position in the singing competition for consecutive 4 years in his college’s Youth Festival.
After completing college, he moved to Australia, where he washed cars to earn money for three months. He used the money he saved by washing cars to release his first song.
In 2013, he became popular from the song Lancer_,_ which received more than 4 million views.
In 2014, he won the PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Male Debut for the film Mr. & Mrs. 420.
Some of his popular tracks are “Pyar Mera,” “Ik Saal,” “Laden,” “Bapu Zimidar,” “Guitar Sikhda,” “Nikle Currant,” and “Nakhre.”
