Ishita Kishore bagged the number 1 All India rank in the 2022 UPSC IAS examination. She made the choice to resign from her corporate job in order to pursue a career dedicated to public governance.
Throughout her childhood, she displayed remarkable academic excellence. She completed her schooling in 2014, specializing in the Commerce stream with a focus on mathematics, and achieved an outstanding score of 97.25%.

Following her resignation from her job in 2019, Ishita Kishore embarked on her journey of preparing for the UPSC IAS exam. Despite encountering initial setbacks, she persevered and faced failure in her first two attempts as she could not clear prelims; however, her determination and hard work paid off in 2023 when she achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 1st rank in the UPSC-IAS examination in her third attempt.
She scored 1094 marks, 901 marks in the written round and 193 marks in the interview, to become rank one holder in the UPSC 2022 examination.

In a post-examination interview, she disclosed her study routine, sharing that she dedicated 9 hours of daily study to prepare for the UPSC IAS exam. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of honing her writing skills through rigorous practice. For the UPSC IAS exam, she opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects.
During her school and college years, she actively engaged in various co-curricular activities. She held the prestigious position of President in the Rotary-sponsored club Interact, where she organized mock United Nations sessions during school events. Additionally, she was a member of both the Economic Society and Literary Society during her college days. From an early age, Ishita Kishore harboured a passion for sports and excelled as a national-level football player; she played in Subroto Cup in 2012. In 2017, she had the honour of being selected as a member of the Indo-China Youth Delegation, representing the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on behalf of the Indian government.
