Panchayati Gaushala Sangathan accused Dinesh Khatik of forcibly seizing 600 bighas of land in Uttar Pradesh. Mahendra Giri, a member of Nirmal Ganga Jan Abhiyan Samiti Shantikunj, Haridwar, alleged that on 28 November 2017 some people were illegally trying to capture a piece of land for farming on the banks of river Ganga. Threatening a Police Officer in Mawana
In August 2018, Dinesh Khatik approached Munendra Pal Singh, the inspector of Mawana police station, for the immediate release of a prisoner whom Singh had arrested on the complaint of the prisoner's wife. Additionally, Khatik also threatened Singh that he would get him transferred to Ballia if he resisted the release. In 2022, Dinesh attracted controversy when he wrote a letter to home minister Amit Shah
offering his resignation from the post of Jal Shakti Minister. In his resignation letter, he claimed that the officers of his own department did not follow his order because he was a Dalit. In the letter, he further wrote,
