| Controversy | Arrested for Money Laundering and Real Estate Scam (2025): Dharam Singh Chhoker along with his son Sikander Chhoker and Vikas Chhoker are linked with a major controversy involving a 360 crore real estate scam, that is linked to his family company, M/s Sai Aaina Farms Pvt. Ltd. Chhoker and his sons collected money from around 3,700 homebuyers for an affordable housing project in Gurugram, but they failed to deliver the flats, and inflating construction costs with fake invoices and diverting the funds for personal gain. The Enforcement Department (ED) raided multiple properties worth rupees 44 crore of them and seized luxury cars, cash, and jewellery. The ED department also recovered evidences of money laundering using fake construction bills. His son, Sikander was arrested in April 2024, Dharam Singh and Vikas remian adsconded. Sikander was reportedly seen moving freely outside the jail under the pretext of hospital treatment, and even took part in political campaigning. Dharam Singh Chhoker was born and raised in a small village of Panipat, Haryana.
He belongs to a family of agriculturists and farmers.
Before joining politics, he worked as a police officer.
His two brothers were also police officers.
His elder brother, Inder Singh Chhoker, also belonged to a political background. He entered politics by joining the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). However, later he left the INLD and joined the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC). Inder Singh had a special image in politics

In 2021, the Enforcement Department (ED) and the Income Tax Department conducted a joint raid on Chhoker’s properties in Samalkha, Panipat, Hisar, Gurugram, and Chandigarh.
In 2023, the Enforcement and Income Tax departments initiated a money laundering investigation against Chhoker and his sons.
Despite being found guilty, Dharam Sigh and his both the sons didn’t appear in the police station or court.
In September 2023, a special court in Gurugram issued non-bailable warrants against Dharam Singh Chhoker and his sons for their alleged involvement in a money laundering case. Despite being wanted by the ED and police, Dharam Singh continued his campaign for the 2024 elections of the Haryana Assembly.
In October 2024, the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered Chhoker to surrender within 24 hours. Dharam Singh, his lawyer, informed the court that Chhoker had suffered a fractured hand due to a prior injury. The local court approved the request for medical intervention regarding this matter. However, Chhoker’s elder son, Sikander Chhoker, was arrested.
In March 2025, Chhoker and his son Vikas Chhoker were declared proclaimed offenders by the Enforcement Department.
In May 2025, Dharam Singh was arrested from a 5-star hotel in New Delhi and sent to ED custody.
