Some Lesser Known Facts About Arjun Das

Before entering the film industry, Arjun Das used to work as a banker in Dubai and had a well-paying job. He then quit his job and returned to Chennai to follow his passion for acting.
Arjun Das was part of the Chennai-based performing arts theatre group named ‘Koothu-P-Pattarai’ and the English theatre group named ‘EVAM.’
Before becoming an actor, Arjun Das was very overweight and he lost 36 kg when he decided to start acting full-time. He was quoted saying in an interview that

I was an over-weight kid at school, but I liked being on stage in both college and school. After my graduation, I worked hard to get into shape and lost close to 36 kgs and that’s when I felt I should try my hand in cinema.”
In 2015, Arjun Das was cast in the Tamil short film titled ‘Random Numbers’ in which he played the character of Nick.

The writer and director of the Tamil film ‘Kaithi’ Lokesh Kanagaraj heard Arjun Das somewhere and got very particular that the character Anbu in the film should have a voice like Arjun Das as his voice had a very distinct bass. That was how Arjun was cast in the Tamil film ‘Kaithi.’
Initially, Arjun was hesitant to sign the film ‘Kaithi’ as he didn’t have any confidence at that time and was quoted saying in an interview that

I got intimidated by hearing the importance of my role. I had zero confidence when I stepped into the project, but the team was encouraging and the faith Lokesh had on me made me give my best.”
Arjun Das considers actor Dhanush to be his biggest inspiration.
In 2020, he was cast in the Tamil supernatural horror thriller film titled ‘Andhaghaaram’ and the film was released on Netflix.

Arjun Das lent his voice for the character of Darkman to the unreleased Tamil spy action thriller film titled ‘Dhruva Natchathiram.’ Arjun’s voice was used as the voiceover for the teaser of the film.
In 2023, Arjun Das was cast in the Telugu romantic action thriller film titled ‘Butta Bomma’ in which he played the character of Ramakrishna/RK and the film was a remake of the 2020 Malayalam film ‘Kappela’ (2020).
