In 2023, Alice suffered first-degree burns to her face, arms, and chest when a friend’s car exploded while she was trying to fix it. Firefighters helped minimise the burn, but doctors doubted if she would heal. Despite this, she recovered with ASOS’s support.
In July 2024, Alice met entrepreneur Sam Vanderpump through a mutual friend named Reza Amiri-Garroussi. She soon fell in love with Sam and began dating him.
In December 2024, Sam fell seriously ill with sepsis. Alice rushed him to a hospital, where doctors said he was just a day away from dying. She stayed by his side and took care of him until he fully recovered.

After his near-death experience with sepsis, Sam decided to propose to Alice Yaxley as he realised how much she meant to him.
On 23 February 2025, Sam proposed to Alice in a private boutique jewellery shop viewing room. They announced their engagement on Instagram on 30 March 2025.
