Akhil Mishra was an Indian actor and director, who was known for playing supporting in the Hindi film and TV industry. He is famous for playing Librarian Dubey in the highly acclaimed 2009 Bollywood film ā3 Idiots.ā In 2023, he met with a fatal accident in his kitchen and died at 67.
He did his schooling in Kanpur.

Before venturing into Hindi films and TV shows, he worked in numerous stage plays and theatrical productions. His journey in theatre began in March 1975.
After Akhil Mishra came from Kanpur to Mumbai, he enrolled in an acting school in Mumbai to learn acting but lost interest and left the school. He then became involved in theatre and gained recognition in that field. The same acting school that he had dropped out of later hired him as an acting teacher.
He portrayed the character of Fantush, an Ad film director, in DD Nationalās well-known Hindi sitcom āShrimaan Shrimatiā (1994-1999).
He played the role of Umed Singh Bundela in Colors TVās popular Hindi TV series āUttaranā from 2009 to 2013.

He portrayed the character of Napoleon in the 2014 Indian English-language historical film āBhopal: A Prayer for Rain,ā which centred around the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.
He was featured in several Hindi films, including āGandhi, My Fatherā (2007), āWell Done Abbaā (2010), and āMere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Haiā (2012).
He also made appearances in many Hindi TV shows, including Star Plusā āHatimā (2004), Life OKās āThe Adventures of Hatimā (2013), and Colors TVās āUdaanā (2014).
According to his wife Suzanne Bernert , Akhil Mishra paused his acting career to assist her in improving her Hindi language skills and acting in Hindi films.
In 2019, he shared the screen with his wife Suzanne Bernert in a short film titled āMajnu ki Juliet,ā which he also wrote and directed.
Reportedly, Akhil had been unwell because of high blood pressure. One day, while he was in the kitchen, he fell down and hurt his head. People found him with a lot of blood around him and quickly took him to the hospital. In an interview, Akhil Mishra mentioned that he didnāt have a favourite actor, but instead appreciated specific performances by actors. He particularly admired performances by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan .
