Zehra Gunes, hailing from Turkey, is a skilled volleyball athlete. She serves as a middle blocker for both Turkey’s women’s national volleyball team and Vakifbank Istanbul in her professional career.
As per information from May 2022, Zehra Gunes was reported to be romantically involved with Eren Ali Disli. However, reports emerged in December 2022 indicating that the pair had ended their relationship and removed the shared photos from their individual Instagram profiles.
In 2015, she embarked on her professional sports journey by joining the Turkey Girls’ U18 National team. In 2015, she took part in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship held in Peru. During this event, she was recognized and honoured for being the Best Middle Blocker. Additionally, in the same year, she also competed in the 2015 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival held in Georgia.
In 2016, she was a part of the Turkey women’s U20 team and participated in the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix. In 2017, she engaged in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U20 World Championship held in Mexico, where she was distinguished with the accolade of Best Middle Blocker.
In 2017, she contributed to the Turkey women’s U23 team’s participation in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship held in Slovenia, where her team emerged as the champions. Furthermore, in the same year, she was honoured with “The Vestel Special Prize” in the 2017-18 Vestel Venus Sultans League.
In 2017, she was also a participant in the 2017-18 CEV Women’s Champions League and achieved victory by clinching the championship title.
In March 2018, she earned a spot on Turkey’s women’s team. Making her debut with the Turkish team, she took part in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League, where her team secured the silver medal. Subsequently, in 2020, she represented her country in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, achieving a fifth-place finish.
During the 2016-17 season of the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League, Zehra was temporarily lent to Besiktas J.K., a different women’s volleyball team. Nevertheless, in the subsequent season, she returned to her initial club.
