Some Lesser Known Facts About Zain Khan Durrani
Zain Khan Durrani is an Indian actor. He is the second actor from Kashmir who featured as a lead actor in Bollywood films. Before him, Zaira Wasim was the only actor from Kashmir who acted in a lead role in a Bollywood film, âDangal.â
In his school and college days, Durrani was good at studies and used to actively participate in extracurricular activities such as theatre and debate competitions.
Durrani loves to spend his leisure time reading books and writing poetry. He writes Urdu and English poetry, which he often shares on his Instagram account.
Durraniâs parents always wanted him to be an IAS officer, and after completing his graduation, Durrani started preparing for the IAS exam. However, his parents later saw his inclination towards acting and poetry and supported him to pursue his career in the film industry.
He worked as an assistant director for the film âShabâ in 2017 after which the director Onir selected him for the lead role in his next film âKuchh Bheege Alfaaz.â
His role as RJ Alfaaz in the film âKuchh Bheege Alfaazâ was critically acclaimed by the audience following which he anchored a radio show âLamhe with Zain,â which aired on 92.7 BIG FM.

In 2020, the actor appeared in the film âShikaraâ directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
His performance in the film âBell Bottomâ (2021) as hijacker Daljeet Singh Dodi made him a known face in Bollywood.

In 2022, he acted in the web series âMukhbir â The Story Of A Spyâ which is based on the novel âMission to Kashmir: An Intelligent Agent in Pakistan,â written by Maloy Dhar. The web series consists of eight episodes and was released in November 2022. It was dubbed into three languages, Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi.

Being a native of Kashmir, Zain Khan Durrani often talks about the hardships faced by the Kashmiris due to the political instability and riots in the state. In one of his interviews, he said,
