• 2012 Cop Assault Case: On 24 March 2012, Yashomati Thakur, her driver Sagar Suresh Khandekar, and party workers Sharad Kashirav Jawanjal and Raju Kisan Ingle, assaulted a traffic policeman Ulhas Raurale, who stopped her vehicle from entering a one-way lane in the Chunabhatti area. Consequently, Raurale registered an FIR at the Rajapeth police station in Amravati. After she was given a three-month sentence by a sessions court in Amravati, she filed an appeal in the high court against the conviction and sought suspension of the sentence by way of interim relief. In 2020, the court sentenced Thakur to three months of rigorous imprisonment in the eight-year-old case and also imposed a fine of Rs. 15,500. The district and sessions court also convicted the other three. They were also fined Rs 15,500 each by the court of district and sessions judge Urmila Joshi. check sources The New Indian Express • Other Charges: She has also been booked for charges relating to voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, punishment for criminal intimidation, being a member of an unlawful assembly, rioting, etc. check sources MyNeta |
