Controversies • Alleged Insult to Hindu God Sri Ram
On 8 April 2023, he performed in a 'Youth For You' program at Sheela Farm in the Nanda Ki Chowki area of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He referred to the Ram Setu construction mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana when the stones were inscribed with the name Ram and were then thrown to build a sea bridge. He said that Jesus drowned on his attempt of walking on water as he had not written the name Ram on the slippers. This joke infuriated several Hindus who criticised his word selection. An FIR was registered at Pram Nagar police station in Dehradun under the section 153-A by the state president of the Uttarakhand Bhairav Sena organisation Sagar Jaiswal. He said, "We came across a video of the comedy event organised at a farmhouse in the city's Prem Nagar area in which he (Rathi) could be seen cracking a joke in bad taste about Lord Ram's crossing of the sea.
