Xavier was born in Adelaide, South Australia, but at the age of seven, he moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland, with his family.
Xavier’s cricketing journey began playing for the Surfers Paradise club. He made his debut for the Gold Coast Dolphins in the first grade in November 2015 at the age of 17.

During 2015 and 2016, Xavier represented the Southport School cricket team.
Xavier was part of Australia’s U19 squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In August 2016, Xavier made his professional debut for the Australian National Performance Squad in a List A match against India A.
On 18 October 2019, Xavier made his first-class debut for Queensland in the 2019–20 Sheffield Shield season.
Xavier made his Twenty20 debut for the Brisbane Heat in the 2020–21 Big Bash League season on 11 December 2020. He took three wickets against the Adelaide Strikers in just his second Big Bash League game.
Xavier played a vital role in the Brisbane Heat’s Title win during the 2023/24 Big Bash Season by taking 20 wickets in the tournament, including 2 wickets in the final match against Sydney Sixers. He was the top wicket-taker in the tournament during the 2023/24 season.
Xavier won the Man of the Match award in his debut ODI match against the West Indies; he took four wickets for 17 runs in the match. He again took four wickets against the West Indies in the third match of the series and won Man of the Match again, which eventually led to him winning the Man of the Series award.
