Her parents got separated when she was too young.
In childhood, she loved reading books. She won various reading competitions in her school.

When she was four years old, she was diagnosed with vitiligo. Gradually, it started spreading over all parts of her body. She was bullied by her classmates for it, and they used to call her zebra and cow. At the age of 16, due to bullying, she quit school and even thought of committing suicide.
She once shared she was a fan of the cartoon character Winnie after which she decided to keep her screen name Winnie. She adopted the second name Harlow from the Canadian model Jean Harlow.
While growing up, she decided to become an entertainment journalist.
She then had an interview with the Toronto photographer Shannon Boodramb who encouraged Winnie to make her career as a model.
Winnie enjoys playing the piano and doing ballet dance.
She started getting offers for various modelling projects in her teens. She first modelled for the Spanish clothing brand Desigual.
