Some Lesser Known Facts About VJ Joshitha
Joshitha joined Krishnagiri Cricket Academy when she was studying in the sixth standard.
Joshitha took the inspiration to pursue cricket from Jhulan Goswami since childhood. She also idolizes Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as she once disclosed in an interview.
In the WPL auctions held in December 2024, Joshitha was bought by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team for Rs. 10 lakhs to play in the WPL 2025.
Joshitha was part of the Indian women’s cricket team squad, which won the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2025 in Malaysia. She was a key player, taking six wickets in total, including a match-winning performance of 2 wickets for 5 runs against the West Indies in the opening match.

In February 2025, Joshitha was awarded Rs. 5 lakhs and a gold medal by Manorama in a ceremony held at the Krishnagiri Stadium. She was rewarded for her performance after she won the Under-19 Women’s Twenty20 Cricket World Cup with the Indian women’s cricket team.
