Vineet Raina is an Indian TV actor who is known for starring in various Hindi TV shows like Maryada… of an Indian family (2007), Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai (2007), Maayka (2007), Udaan (2014), and Choti Sarrdaarni (2021).
He grew up in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Raina’s family was among the numerous Kashmiri Pandit households displaced from their residences in Kashmir during the early 1990s.
Raina has been good at mimicking since childhood. Growing up, he would entertain his parents by imitating his relatives. Recalling the same in an interview, he said,
As a kid, I had a habit of mimicking everyone who came to my house. I’d observe guests and other relatives carefully. Then, after they left, I would mimic them before my parents and they would laugh at it.”
Later, during his career as a TV actor, he would imitate Sanjeev Kumar and Nana Patekar to amuse his colleagues.
During his college years, he actively participated in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Before becoming an actor, Vineet Raina used to work in Maruti Udyog in Kashmir. At that time, he also appeared in a few serials on Doordarshan Kashmir.
After a while, he got tired of his job at Maruti Udyog and moved to Mumbai for better job opportunities. In Mumbai, he applied for jobs in companies like Wipro, ICICI etc before securing a role in the TV show Mulk (2003).
From 2004 to 2005, he appeared in the TV serial Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan on Zee TV in which he played one of the lead roles of Dhruv, Guruji’s Grandson.
He is known for playing negative roles in various TV shows like Sindoor Tere Naam Ka (2005-2007) as Anuraag, Vaidehi (2006) as Yashvardhan “Yash” Jaisingh, Dhoop Mein Thandi Chaav…Maa (2009) as Akshar, Begusarai (2015–2016) as Bhanu, and Kaala Teeka (2016–2017) as Dewri.
In 2006, he started dating TV actress Tanushree Kaushal, who was then starring in the TV show Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann. Raina dated Kaushal for three years before getting married to her in 2009. However, the marriage ended in two years.
In the same year, he played the supporting role of Aarth Razdan in the soap opera Sati…Satya Ki Shakti on Sahara One.
Vineet Raina’s first film Janani (2006) was a failure at the box office. In an interview, he talked about working in Janani and said,
I did Janani, because I desperately needed the money to survive in Mumbai. I received a couple more film offers but I didn’t take them on. Films take at least six months to get going. I didn’t have that much steam to keep me going. I opted for TV instead.”
In 2007, he came into the spotlight with TV Asia’s Maryada… of an Indian family in which he played the role of Krishna “Krish” Singh.

In 2007, he gained immense popularity for playing the role of Veer Khurana, Durga and Mr Khurana’s elder son in the daily soap Maayka – Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka on Zee TV. The role earned him a Zee Rishtey Award in the category of Favorite Jija Sala/Sali Rishta, which he shared with actress Neha Bamb.

At the same time, Raina also starred in Zee TV’s Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai (2007-2008) in which he played the role of a businessman named Akshay Thakral.

In 2008, he was featured in the horror thriller television anthology series “Ssshhhh…Koi Hai” on Star Plus. He played the role of Gaurav Sharma in episodes 126a and 127 of Season 2.

He appeared as a host on the reality game show Cinema Khel Khel Mein in 2011. The family game show involved participants engaging in a Bollywood trivia quiz.
From 2014 to 2016, he appeared in Colors TV’s popular soap opera Udaan as Arjun Khanna. He earned a nomination in the category of Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Udaan at the Colors Golden Petal Awards (2016).

In 2016, he joined the Lucknow Nawabs cricket team as a participant in the sports reality television show Box Cricket League 2.
In 2017, he collaborated with his co-actor friend Ramman Handa to write scripts as a Creative Director for Ramman’s production company Natak Ent.
Vineet was rumoured to be romantically involved with his co-actor Alisha Panwar from the TV Ishq Mein Marjaawan in which he appeared from 2017 to 2019. However, he clarified that they were simply friends. In an interview, clarifying the same, he said,
Aisha is not just my co-actor, but also my neighbour. She stays right above my floor and we are great friends. I don’t think we are looking at being anything more than that.”
He portrayed the role of Rahu in the fantasy drama series Meri Gudiya (2020) on Star Bharat.

He starred in the biographical period drama film The Sholay Girl (2019) as Shakoor, which streamed on the online platform ZEE5.
He played the parallel lead role of Paramjeet Singh Gill on Colors TV’s famous romantic drama TV series Choti Sarrdaarni in 2021.
In the following year, he played the role of Qasim in Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul on Sony SAB.

Other TV shows in which he starred include Punar Vivah (2012), Lapataganj – Ek Baar Phir (2014), Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi (2015), and Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil (2017).
Vineet Raina received praise for his performance in the web series Kasak (2020) as Abhay. The show, inspired by a true story, was streamed on the OTT platform ULLU. Raina was nominated for Best Actor at the Filmfare OTT Awards for his role in Kasak (2020).
