Vinay Gowda is an Indian actor who has worked in many TV shows and films in the Kannada film industry. He is famous for his role as a villain in many films. In 2023, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 as one of the contestants.
He was a troublesome student as a child. During his school days, he wore leather belts and zipper boots and kept long hair and often violated the school dress code.

When he was 21, he had a quarrel with his father after which he left his home in Bangalore and went to Mumbai. He worked as a manager in a hotel for a few years before his sister-in-law, Nishitha Gowda, convinced him to try his luck in acting.

Initially, he was not interested in acting; however, he later got many acting offers and acted in many TV serials including CID Karnataka in 2013, Ambari in 2014, Amma in 2016, Bayasade Bali Bande in 2019, Nandini in 2019, and Marali Manasagide in 2021.

In 2016, Vinay Gowda became popular after he enacted Lord Shiva in the Kannada TV serial Hara Hara Mahadeva. He gained more fame with his portrayal of Ravana in Jai Hanumana in 2018 and Lord Shiva in Yediyuru Shri Siddhalingeshwara in 2020; he quit the show after testing positive for COVID-19 in 2021.

He also played the role of villains in many TV shows such as the role of Badrinath Chinni in Namma Lacchi in 2023 and in Shambhavi in 2023.
