Some Lesser Known Facts About Vikrant Gupta
From a young age, Vikrant Gupta aspired to become a cricketer. During his school days, he played for the Under-15 cricket team in Chandigarh.

During his college days, Vikrant Gupta played cricket at the university and state levels.
After graduation, he started pursuing MA in English at the Panjab University; however, he dropped out midway and began studying mass communication.
In 1992, Vikrant Gupta was awarded a certificate from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for being a member of the Under 19 ‘Cooch Behar Trophy-winning Punjab team.

In 1995, he played at the All India Inter University Rohinton Baria Finals in Tirunelveli.

In May 1997, after completing his formal education, he began working as a Special Correspondent at The Indian Express and worked there till January 2003.
In January 2003, he started working as a Senior Editor (Sports) for the India Today Group – Aaj Tak and India Today.

He is a part of the Aaj Tak cricket team. He has played and won many local tournaments for the Aaj Tak team including Lionel Premier League in 2017.

In October 2014, he first appeared on the Indian Hindi-language television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony TV as a special guest contestant. Later, he was appointed on the Expert panel of the show.

While working for Aaj Tak, Vikrant Gupta has covered numerous large-scale cricket matches including the 2017 Champions Trophy, 2007 World Cup, and 2018 Asia Cup.
In 2014, he began hosting a Hindi cricket television talk show named SalaamCricket for India Today. During that, Gupta interviewed many International cricketers including Shane Warne , Brian Lara , and Michael Clarke .

Vikrant Gupta has given several lectures on mass communication as a guest speaker at various colleges including Lingaya’s Institute for Mass Communication in February 2017.
In 2018, he hosted the Mind Rocks 2018 Youth Summit for India Today and interviewed Punjabi singer Parmish Verma .
