Controversy • Compared Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a terrorist

Vijayashanti hit the controversial headlines in 2019 for her remarks on Narendra Modi. In a rally in Telangana's Shamshabad village in Ranga Reddy district, she said that he was 'ruling like a dictator' by scaring people with his actions like demonetisation, the Goods and Services Tax, reclaiming black money, and the Pulwama terror attack.
Vijayashanti said,

“Everyone is scared at what moment Modi will shoot the bomb. He looks like a terrorist. Instead of loving people, he's scaring people. It's not the way how a PM should be."
