Controversy Violating Model Code of Conduct: On 15 March 2009, an FIR was filed against Veena Devi, her husband Dinesh Prasad Singh, and Shivnandan Sah for allegedly distributing hand pumps among 12 ward members of Makhdumpur Kodariya Panchayat of Marwan block during the 2009 Legislative Council elections.
