Varinder Singh Ghuman is an Indian actor, dairy farmer, and bodybuilder. He rose to fame after winning the title of Mr. India in 2009. He is known for being the first vegetarian bodybuilder in the world.
He grew up in Gurdaspur, Punjab.

Varinder belongs to a family with a sports background. His father was a Kabbadi player, and his grandfather was a hockey player.
Varinder was fond of cricket since childhood and played as a fast bowler for his schoolâs cricket team. However, his father advised him to make a career in athletics so that he could get enrolled into police later.
Soon, his family relocated from Gurdaspur and got settled in Jalandhar.
In Jalandhar, he once attended an event which was attended by many renowned bodybuilders of Punjab. Varinder got too impressed with them and decided to pursue bodybuilding as his career.
He then joined a gym and started working on his body under the guidance of a good trainer. He built his body for 5 years and later, participated in a district-level body-building competition, where he received the title of Mr. Jalandhar.
Later, he won the title of Mr. Punjab.
In 2009, he participated in the Mr. India contest and emerged as the winner of the title.
In the same year, he bagged second position in the Mr. Asia contest.
He then competed in the Australian Grand Prix following which he received the International Federation of Body Building and Fitness (IFBB) pro card. He also won the Amateur Australia Championship.

Subsequently, he moved to Mumbai, to pursue a course in dance and acting.
He then featured in a few music videos.
Varinder started his acting career in 2012 with the Punjabi film Kabaddi Once Again. He played the role of Shingara Singh in the film.
Two years later, he appeared in the Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans opposite Nora Fatehi. He played the role of Cheena in the film.

He then appeared in the Hindi films âMarjaavanâ (2019) and âTiger 3â (2023).
Varinder owns a YouTube channel named Varinder Ghuman which was created in 2019. He uploads gym and health-related vlogs on his channel.
Once, during his visit to Spain, he met the Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who hired Varinder as a brand ambassador to promote his health products. In an interview, while talking about his meeting with Arnold, Virender said,
It was during a visit to Spain for a competition for the Arnold Classic Bodybuilding Championship that I got to meet the star. I was a top ranker at the event and Arnold was enthralled to see my body and that I was the tallest bodybuilder from India. I feel proud for getting noticed by such a big Hollywood actor. He had never promoted any Bollywood movie before this. I take it as his blessings that he posted my poster on his account.â
Virender once got selected for wrestling in the United Kingdom.
Varinder has also been a part of a few plays in which he played the role of Lord Hanuman and Bheem Sen.
