On 13 May 2025, Valeria Marquez came into the limelight after she was shot and killed during a TikTok livestream.
She was popular for posting videos about beauty and makeup.
Before the shooting, Valeria Marquez was seen holding a stuffed toy and sitting on a chair during the live stream, where she said,
Theyāre coming,ā
After this, someone in the background asked,
Hey, Vale?ā
Valeria Marquez replied,
Yes.ā
She then muted the livestream.
After a few seconds, Valeria Marquez was shot. Someone then picked up her phone, and her face was briefly visible on the livestream before it ended.

She had more than 200,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok.
In an old livestream, Valeria Marquez said that someone had come to the salon with an expensive gift when she was not there. She seemed worried and mentioned that she was not planning to wait for that person to return.
The shooting incident happened around 6:30 pm at her Blossom Beauty Lounge in Mexico.
A man pretending to be a delivery person came to the salon and shot her during the livestream.
Ricardo Ruiz Velazco, also known as āEl Doble RRā, āRRā, or āEl Tripaā, was linked to the shooting, and on 14 May 2025, during the police investigation, it was reported that he was the main suspect.
The Jalisco state prosecutorās office said that Velazco was in a relationship with Valeria Marquez for several months.
Reportedly, he was upset because she received expensive gifts from her fans.
The case was being treated as a femicide, a crime where a woman is killed because of her gender.
Ricardo Ruiz Velazco was believed to be the leader of an armed group in Jalisco called the Jalisco Nueva GeneraciĆ³n Cartel (CJNG).
