| Controversies | • Court judgement in favour of Tulisa regarding the sex tape scandal In 2012, a video content of sexual nature featuring Tulisa and her former boyfriend rapper MC Ultra (Justin Edwards) was released on the internet. She accused that the video was released by her former boyfriend MC Ultra with a wrongful intent which he denied. She got a court order against the distribution of the video. Some Lesser Known Facts About Tulisa
Tulisa belongs to a musically inclined family. Her father, Steve Contostavlos (Plato), a Greek Cypriot, was the keyboardist of the British rock band Mungo Jerry. Her mother, Anne Byrne, an Irish singer, was part of the band Jeep with her sisters.
Her mother suffered from bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder and was admitted for treatment when Tulisa was five years old.
At age 12, she joined the musical band Lickle Rinsers Crew (now known as N-Dubz). The other members were her cousin Dino (now popular as singer Dappy) and Fazer.

According to her, her uncle Byron Contostavlos (bassist of the rock band Mungo Jerry) was instrumental in her joining the music band and in its success in later years.
Some of the songs released by the band Lickle Rinsers Crew (LRC) are Bad Man Riddim and Life Is Getting Sicker by the Day.
The trio later changed their band name to NW1 and then to N-Dubz. Some of their early hit songs include Everyday Of My Life (2005), which was played on the music television channel Channel U (UK), and Better Not Waste My Time (which was number one on Channel U’s charts).
The group’s first album, Uncle B (2008), was a tribute to its manager, Byron Contostavlos, who passed away in 2007.
In 2011, she became a judge on the reality television music competition The X Factor (season 8). She was the youngest judge and mentored the band Little Mix, which later won the competition that season.

In 2011, she launched the perfume, The Female Boss, and a fashion line called TFB by Tulisa in 2012.
In 2012, she published an autobiographical book, Honest: My Story So Far and in it she mentioned her life with her mother and other major life incidents.
