Tovino was born and brought up in a Syro-Malabar Catholic family.
Initially, he started his career as a software engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai.
Within few months, he left his job and started working as a model.
He featured in some advertisements like Silver Storm Water Theme Park, Athirappilly and Indulekha Hair Care Oil.
In 2011, he featured in the short film Grisaille.
In 2012, he worked as an assistant director in the Malayalam film Theevram, which was directed by Roopesh Peethambaran.
