  • As a teenager, he developed a passion for distance running and joined local community clubs, including the Mingara Athletics Club.

  • Tommy was recognised for his exceptional work. In 2015, at the age of 23, he drew national attention when he welcomed his 17-year-old homeless and pregnant cousin, Kiarna, into his home. In an interview, he said that,

“She didn’t ask me if she could stay with me, but I had that day off work so I drove down to the Gold Coast straight away and picked her up.”

  • As a runner and sports enthusiast, he established one of the country’s largest athletics communities, Athletes Australia, a Facebook group with over 35,000 members. This group became a safe space for athletes to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

  • He didn’t participate in any Olympic games, although he won various medals at national and international athletics competitions.

Many of my network and friends have been privileged to experience his friendship and/or had the opportunity to work with him and I am now asking you to help his family with a gesture of goodwill.’
