Some Lesser Known Facts About Tim Ferriss
After completing his graduation, he began working at a data storage company named TrueSAN Networks. He worked there for a year.
In September 2001, he founded BrainQUICKEN LLC, an internet-based nutritional supplements business, and began working as its Senior Director.
In 2007, he published a book titled The 4-Hour Workweek, which was based on his life during the BrainQUICKEN LLC.

In 2010, he sold the company to a London-based private equity firm.
Ferriss has been an angel investor and advisor to various startups including Reputation.com, Trippy, and TaskRabbit.
In 2013, Ferriss raised $250,000 to invest in an American shipping company named Shyp by forming a syndicate on AngelList. He raised over $500,000 through his backers, and Shyp raised a total of $2.1 million; however, Shyp shut down in 2018.
In November 2013, Ferriss started an audiobook publishing company named Tim Ferriss Publishing. The company published many books by various authors including Vagabonding by Rolf Potts (2002), Ego Is the Enemy (2016) and The Obstacle Is the Way (2014) by Ryan Holiday , Daily Rituals by Mason Currey (2013), and What I Learned Losing a Million Dollars (2013) by Jim Paul and Brendan Moynihan.
In 2013, he appeared in the reality television series āThe Tim Ferriss Experimentā in which he learnt new skills such as boxing, professional poker or the drums every week from various unorthodox teachers. Though thirteen episodes were shot for the television series, only aportion was broadcasted on the TV channel HLN.

In 2014, he became a pre-seed money advisor to Uber. In the same year, he started a podcast titled The Tim Ferriss Show.
Ferriss announced that he would be taking a break from investing in 2015 and also said that he planned to spend time on his writing and media projects. Later, he moved to Silicon Valley in California.
He has written many books including The 4-Hour Workweek (2007), The 4-Hour Body (2010), The 4-Hour Chef (2012), Tools of Titans (2016), and Tribe of Mentors (2017).

In 2017, he hosted a TV show named Fear(less) with Tim Ferriss in which he interviewed world-class performers of all types and discussed their stories.

Timothy actively promotes the use of Psychedelic drugs to heal mental illness and has donated approximately $2,000,000 for clinical research into psychedelic drugs.
In 2017, he collected money to build a new centre for clinical research into psychedelic drugs at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the USA.
He also provided funds for a similar centre at Imperial College London and individual research projects at the University of San Francisco, California.
He actively promotes the value of Stoicism and meditation to deal with bipolar disorder. While promoting, he revealed that it helped him personally as well and losing his friend to fentanyl drug overdose motivated him to promote the psychedelics research.
He has appeared at various TEDx events across the USA.
