| Controversy | In 2021, Lonari attracted controversy when her sister in law filed a police complaint against her for harassment and torture. In the police complaint, her sister in law stated, My in-laws physically assaulted me. My sister-in-law has threatened and assaulted me in the past. All of them have subjected me to cruelty in many ways. I have adequate proof which I will give to the police. I have full faith in the law and am certain justice will prevail. My inlaws are pressuring me to withdraw the complaint and not take legal aid. Our lives are at stake." Responding to the complaint, in an interview, Lonari said that the complaint was false. In the interview, she further added, The entire case is false and baseless. I stay in Mumbai and there is no way that I can harass her. The case was filed against my parents and me, and she did not include her husband. My brother and his wife are making false allegations to get hold of the property. We were taking care of their financial needs as the couple had no means to survive.
