Tajdar Amrohi, an Indian director and producer, is the son of the legendary film director and writer Kamal Amrohi.
Kamal Amrohi married four times. Tajdar Amrohi was born to Kamal Amrohiâs second wife, Sayeda Al-Zehra Mehmoodi, the daughter of Jamal Hasan.
Tajdar Amrohiâs mother, Mehmoodi, passed away on 9 April 1982 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.
Tajdar Amrohi is married to Niloufer Amrohi, who is the sister of actor Mazhar Khan.
Tajdar Amrohi is the stepson of Meena Kumari , a well-known Indian actress with whom he shared a deep bond of affection. In an interview, he talked about Meena Kumari and said,
Choti Ammi never took Baba away from us. She never asked him to leave us. She respected my mother. She gave me no reason to hate her. I grew extremely fond of her. Having said that, Choti Ammi remained the love of his life.â
Tajdar Amrohi is the nephew of the famous poets Jaun Elia and Rais Amrohvi.
In 1958, Kamal founded Kamal Amrohi Studio also known as Kamalistaan Studio; this studio gave many blockbuster films including âMahalâ (1949), âPakeezahâ (1972), and âRazia Sultanâ (1983). After Kamalâs death, the studio was owned by Tejdar, Shandar, and Rukhsar.

Tajdar was not on good terms with her brother Shandar and sister Rukhsar over the property issues because Shandar tried to sell his share of the studio without informing his siblings.

In 1983, Tajdar Amrohi made his directorial debut with the film âRazia Sultan.â It was the last film of his father, Kamal Amrohi.

Later, Tajdar directed films such as âEk Number ka Chorâ (1990), âMera Mulk Mera Paigamâ (2001).
He produced a few films including âShankar Hussainâ (1977), âHum Sey Hai Jahaanâ (2008), and âDuniyadariâ (2017).
Tajdarâs son, Mashhoor Amrohi, wrote, directed, and played the lead role in the film âHum Sey Hai Jahaanâ.
In 2004, Tajdar joined the Congress Party.
