Tahila McGrath is an Australian cricketer who is known for being bought by UP Warriorz for Rs. 1.40 crore for the Womenâs Premier League 2023.
Her first international match was in 2016 when she scored 47 runs against South Africa. Later, she got some injuries, due to which she had to stop playing.
In 2017, she was not chosen as a part of the Australian squad for the Womenâs Cricket World Cup. She received a call from Australiaâs squad for the Womenâs Ashes for the World Cup. She was included in both the WODI squad and the Test squad. On 26 October 2017, in the match between Australia and England, she took her first international wicket in the second WODI match.
On 9 November 2017, she made her Test debut for Australia Women against England Women in The Womenâs Ashes.

In November 2018, she was included in the Adelaide Strikersâ squad for the 2018â19 Womenâs Big Bash League season. In 2021 and 2022, she was the captain of the Adelaide Strikers in the Womenâs Big Bash League.

In April 2019, she received a contract with the National Performance Squad from Cricket Australia for the 2019-20 season. When she was part of the squad, she used to travel to different countries with the âAâ team even when she was not playing.
In April 2020, she received a central contract from Cricket Australia for the 2020â21 season.
In August 2021, she became part of Australiaâs squad for a one-off day or night Test match in their series against India. On 21 September 2021, in the first three WODI of the series at Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay, Queensland, she showed her great bowling skills but was unable to take a wicket. She also did not get a chance to bat. On 24 September 2021, in the second WODI at Mackay, she bowled and claimed 3-45, and she had a great partnership with Beth Mooney where she scored 74 runs off 77 balls. Her performance helped Australia to come from the lowest point to the highest point.
On 7 October 2021, she made her Womenâs Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut for Australia against India.
In January 2022, she was chosen by Australiaâs squad for their series against England and played against Womenâs Ashes. In the first match of the WT20I fixture series, she became the first Australian all-rounder to take three wickets and score more than 75 runs in a WT20I. She gained the figure 3-26 and scored 91 runs off 49 balls. In the series, she became the Player of the series for scoring 225 runs and taking 11 wickets against the Womenâs Ashes.
In January 2022, she was named to the Australian team for the 2022 Womenâs Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
In April 2022, the Southern Brave team bought her for the 2022 season of The Hundred in England.

In August 2022, she was named to the playing squad for the final match with India in the Common Wealth Games 2022 despite testing Covid positive. She scored 2 runs and bowled two overs giving 24 runs during Indiaâs innings. The news broke out at the time of the coin toss, and Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was worried about her team. In an interview, she said,
There was no time to react since the Indian team only found out about it at the toss. Obviously there was concern but it is the decision of the authorities. We were OK because she (McGrath) wasnât very ill, so we just decided to play. We had to show the sportsmanâs spirit. Weâre happy that we didnât say no to Tahlia because that (missing the final) would have been very hard-hitting for her.â

In 2022, she led the Australian womenâs team in the final T20I match against India in Mumbai after Australiaâs interim captain Alyssa Healy could not join due to an injury.
In 2023, UP Warriorz bought her for Rs. 1.40 crore for the Womenâs Premier League.
In 2023, she scored 57 runs and took six wickets in the Womenâs T20 World Cup in Gqeberha, helping her team reach the semifinals. On 27 February, they won the trophy.
