Tahir Raj Bhasin belongs to a multicultural background as his mother is a Kashmiri Maharashtrian, while his father is a Punjabi.
He decided to become an actor after he attended IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo festival.
He started acting at the age of 13.
During his school days, he took part in extracurricular activities such as dance and sports, including basketball.

He joined Barry John Acting Studio when he was 15.
He performed in many dance events during his college days. He also joined a theatre group and performed in many plays.
During his college days, he got the opportunity to attend an acting workshop organized by Aamir Raza Husain, a well-known theatre actor and director.
In many interviews, he mentioned that he had relationships during his school and college days, but once he got serious about acting, relationships took a lesser priority because of his busy schedule.
After graduating from the Hindu College in New Delhi, Tahir worked with a leading national news production company, where he was involved in tasks like copywriting and hosting a college campus talk show. He also worked at NDTV.

While pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Melbourne in Australia, he worked as a coffee artist at a café. That’s where his love for coffee began.

Tahir moved to Mumbai at the age of 23. There, he joined the Institute of Advanced Acting and Behavioural Studies for a year.
Although he made his debut in Bollywood as a villain in the 2014 film ‘Mardaani,’ he had acted in many other films before, including ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’ (2012) and ‘Kai Po Che!’ (2013).

In 2013, he attended the summer intensive acting and voice training program conducted by actor Naseeruddin Shah .
His work as ‘Shiv Sharma’ (Rudra Pratap Singh) in the film ‘Force 2’ (2016) was appreciated by the audience.

He played the role of ‘Arjun Mohindar Bhatia’ in the 2023 web series ‘Sultan of Delhi,’ which streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. He got so deeply into the role that it took him about two months to stop walking like the character.

Tahir believes in contributing to the society. In 2015, he walked the ramp at the ninth edition of the fashion show ‘Ramp for Champs.’ The funds raised from the events went to the Smile Foundation to promote and support girls’ education.
