Sydney grew up in a home near Idaho in the state’s Panhandle region along the Washington border, which her family had inhabited for five generations.
During her school days, she actively participated in sports such as soccer, baseball, skiing, and wakeboarding.
During her childhood, she had an accident while wakeboarding where the edge of her board slit the area next to her eye and left her a permanent scar.
She wanted to become an actress after auditioning for an extra in an independent film which was being filmed in Spokane.
Before moving to Los Angeles at the age of 13, she auditioned and booked several acting jobs in Seattle and Portland, Oregon.
She was part of the mathematics club and robotics team in her middle school.
