Some Lesser Known Facts About Suraj Jagan
In an interview, he shared that while he was in class 7, he had to change school several times.
Since his teens, he was inclined towards singing. Initially, he used to perform English songs at various events.
He once shared that initially, he faced various financial difficulties. He once swiped his card after filling petrol at a petrol pump, and he had only Rs 39 left in his account.
In 1987, he started performing with a music band named Aurora.
In 1988, while he was learning guitar from a professional musician, the musician once heard him humming a song. The musician praised him and asked him to perform with his music band in a live show.
He then started his music band Kryzys. Along with his band, he performed at various events in India and various other countries. Later, he performed with the Chakravyuh band.
Suraj Jagan has not taken any professional training in singing.
He has worked with the Indian musician Shantanu Moitra in various ad jingles.
He played a small role in the Hindi film Rock On!! in 2008.
In 2009, he gained immense popularity for his song âGive Me Some Sunshineâ from the Hindi film 3 Idiots.
He has lent his voice to songs of various films such as âHey Johnnyâ from Johnny Gaddaar (2007; Hindi), âRang Daaleinâ from Lafangey Parindey (2010; Hindi), âChallenge nibi na salaâ from Challenge 2 (2012; Bengali), Vishwaroopam title track (2012; Tamil), and âChorâ from Blackout (2024; Hindi).
In 2011, he lent his voice to the jingle song âYou and I in this Beautiful Worldâ in the Hutch ad.
He admires the work of the Indian musicians A.R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja .
He is an avid animal lover and owns a pet dog.
