Sulaiman Merchant is an Indian music director and score composer.
He mainly works in collaboration with his brother, Salim Merchant and together, the duo is called Salim-Sulaiman.
Sulaiman got inspired from his father and started learning music at a young age.

He received training in Tabla from Taufiq Qureshi and Ustad Zakir Hussain.
He started his music career when he was just 16 years old. Initially, Sulaiman used to compose music and jingles for TV advertisements, documentaries, and pop albums.

In 1977, Sulaiman, along with his brother Salim, composed the background score of the film, âHameshaa.â
Sulaiman came into limelight after scoring the background music for the film, âBhoot.â
He has composed music for many popular Bollywood films, including âAb Tak Chhappanâ (2004), âMujhse Shaadi Karogiâ (2004), âDhoomâ (2004), âNeal âNâ Nikkiâ (2005), âKaalâ (2005), âKrrishâ (2006), and âFashionâ (2008).

His surname was earlier Molddina, but when his uncle moved to Australia, Sulaiman changed it to Merchant.
