At the age of just 3, Suhasini Mulay lost her father and was raised by her mother.
When she was 15 years old, she got selected to work as a model for âPears Soapâ, which was her first modelling assignment.
She got her first break as an actress in 1969 in the Bollywood film âBhuvan Shomeâ, in which she played the lead role of âGauri.â

In 1975, Suhasini assisted filmmaker âSatyajit Rayâ in the Bengali film âJana Aranya.â
She also assisted filmmaker âMrinal Senâ in the Bollywood film âMrigayaaâ in 1976.
After that, she started producing films, and she has made more than 60 non-fictional documentaries.
