Strela Thounaojam Luwang is an Indian model, actress, and TV anchor, who has been crowned several beauty pageant titles.
Strela Luwang was announced as the second runner-up at Femina Miss India 2023 at the age of 22, while 19-year-old Nandini Gupta , who hails from Kota, was declared the winner of Miss India 2023.

Strela was diagnosed with epilepsy at an early age as a result of the stress and anxiety brought on by bullying. She suffered from epilepsy attacks in school due to which she was driven into leaving school. Later, Luwang was homeschooled by her parents for more than two years. While talking about, in an interview, she said,
I suffered seizures whenever my teacher scolded me for not doing well in class. So I studied hard but that did not help me. I used to wish that there would not be so much pressure.ā
While struggling with depression at the age of 10, Strela found comfort in learning the āart of writing.ā
She shares a close bond with her father, who gave her a lot of support as she battled her medical conditions. He took Strella to Chennai for her treatment. check sources The Telegraph She battled mental health problems while participating in several activities including dance and yoga classes.
At the age of 14, Strela paved her way as a model by working for Eicher Motors, an automobile company. Later, she modelled for several popular brands including ORRA Jewellery, Miren, Colorbar Cosmetics, and Reliance Trends.
She partook in one of the Garnier Fashion Weeks.

Strela tried to compete for the title of Miss Manipur in 2016; however, her application was turned down because she did not meet the criteria that contestants have at least completed matriculation. She rose up by winning the title of Miss Manipur 2017, which was held the following year.

Luwang auditioned twice for the title of Miss India but due to some reasons, she couldnāt get through.
In 2018, she appeared in a short film titled Who Said Boys Canāt Wear Make Up, which was directed by Priyakanta Laishram. The film is Northeast Indiaās first film, which is based on gender equality and makeup.

She worked as an anchor for Impact TV, a Manipur-based Cable TV Channel. Additionally, she appeared on āKhangminasi Manipurā by Impact TV Imphal in February 2023. Luwang anchored Manipur Sangai Festival in 2018.

Being a social activist, Luwang advocates mental health awareness on different forums wherein she is often seen promoting a child-friendly education system in schools and colleges. While talking about this in an interview, she said,
Anyone can be suffering from some mental breakdown or issues, but what we see on the face is very deceiving, so when someone opens up, please donāt shoo them away, saying they are lying and faking for attention. In the future, as a child who survived school bullying, I must say bullying doesnāt just come from classmates and colleagues; it can also come from teachers; after I got my anxiety attacks, It was traced back to how I was being treated in class. Thus, my ultimate aim or plan for the future is to encourage child-friendly education without the discrimination of any gender identity.ā
She is a supporter of Ketto India, a crowdfunding and medical fundraising organization in India that works for charitable causes and the Child Help Foundation.
From participating in beauty pageants to judging and grooming the contestants of several other beauty pageants, Luwang has done both. She was invited as a judge of Miss Manipur 2022 auditions.

As the Femina Miss India 2023 was held in Manipur, also Luwangās hometown, she expressed her happiness by saying that this would give a lot of opportunities to Manipurās people in order to explore the world of modelling and inspire them to become Miss India one day.
Strela once helped a cancer patient, who was experiencing seizures due to anxiety. In an interview, she said that she managed to carry out the proper procedures without anybodyās supervision but with the first-aid classes that she learnt in paramedics. It was one of the proudest moments in her life, she said.
Stella believes that empathy, compassion, and deep thinking are some of the characteristics that define her personality. According to her, every woman should possess these qualities as well as leadership skills and confidence in their life.
In an interview, she said that her being a writer for one of the best Manipur films was the craziest rumour sheād ever heard about herself.
Strela is an environmentalist activist and is often seen planting trees on different occasions.

In an interview, she said that she has faced a lot of financial issues with the preparation and her participation in the beauty pageant, Femina Miss India 2023. Unlike other contestants, she didnāt have enough money to buy expensive clothing and had to collect second-hand clothes for the event.
She practices self-defence, and has been part of several Mixed Martial Arts teams.
