Some Lesser Known Facts About Sriram Balaji
Sriram Balaji played multiple sports, such as cricket and football, while in school.
At nine years old, Sriram Balaji started tennis training at the Perks Sports Academy – Tennis Courts in Coimbatore.
In 2002, he represented India in the Nike Junior Tour (NJT) International Masters in Sun City, South Africa and secured ninth position in the team event category.
In 2004, he was ranked first in the nation by the All India Tennis Association (AITA) in the under-14 category.
In 2004, he represented India and secured 11th position at the Asia/ Oceania qualifying team event for the World Junior Tennis (WJT) Competition in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2006, he represented India in the Junior Davis Cup Tournament in Kuching Malaysia and participated in the Youth Camp of the 15th Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.
He was one of the first trainees at Schüttler-Waske Tennis University (now Alexander Waske Tennis University) in Germany and has been training there since 2010.

Sriram Balaji’s debut Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) main draw was in the men’s double event with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan at the 2012 Aircel Chennai Open.
In 2014, he became part of the franchise Mumbai Tennis Masters representing Mumbai in the Champions Tennis League (CTL).
In 2018, he partnered with Vishnu Vardhan in the Men’s Doubles category at the Wimbledon Championships.

He represented the Indian Armed Forces at the 7th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan, China in 2019.
His first ATP final was the 2023 Tata Open Maharashtra in Pune with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, where they were runner-up in the Men’s Doubles category.

He partnered with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in the Men’s doubles Category in the Australian Open and French Open Tournaments in 2023.
