Some Lesser Known Facts About Sri M
Sri M belongs to a Muslim family in Kerela.
Sri M has described in his autobiography titled Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master: A Yogi’s Autobiography (2010) that at the age of 9, he met guru Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji in the backyard of his home in Trivandrum. His journey to spiritual awakening began after meeting with his guru Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji at the age of 9.

At the age of 19, he left his home to search for his guru Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji in the Himalayas. He found Babaji at the Vyasa Gufa (cave) near Badrinath.
He then spent three and half years in the Himalayas after he found Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji.
He understood the meaning of the Upanishads, Hindu scriptures, and meditation from Maheshwarnath Babaji.
In an interview, he stated that while visiting Kailash with Babaji he was diagnosed with a type of mountain fever. The fever was later cured because a Yeti-like creature provided him with an herbal medicine at that time.
After returning from the Himalayas, he met many spiritual gurus such as Neem Karoli Baba, Laxman Joo, and Krishnamurti and also spent a lot of his time in the Ramakrishna Mission and the Krishnamurti Foundation.
Some of the books written by Sri M are Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master: A Yogi’s Autobiography (2010), Sri M: The Journey Continues: a Sequel to Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master (2017), The Upanishads: Katha – Prashna – Mundaka (2017), and On Meditation: Finding Infinite Bliss and Power Within (2019).
Sri M has described his previous life experiences of over 5000 years in his books.
In 1994, Sri M founded the Satsang Foundation, a charitable society based in Bengaluru, India. The foundation runs two schools in Andhra Pradesh known as The Peepal Grove School and The Satsang Vidyalaya.
Sri M shares his knowledge of Yoga, Meditation, and Philosophy through his YouTube Videos and podcasts on the channel The Satsang Foundation created in 2014.
In 2015, Sri M walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and covered a distance of 7,500 km on foot. The initiative was called Walk of Hope, where several travellers followed him to restore the spirituality of the nation.

Sri M had visited several saints across south India such as Bhagwan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri, Yogi Gopala Saami, Kaladi Mastan, Swami Abhedananda, Chempazhanti Swami, Swami Tapasyananda and Mai Ma.
In 2021, he became the Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.
He follows the Nath tradition of Hinduism. He stated in an interview,
No religion becomes meaningful if it is not compassionate. Simply going to temple, mosque or church will not make one religious”
