Controversies Arrested for Spot-Fixing: Sreesanth was arrested on charges of spot-fixing in the IPL 2013 while he was playing for Rajasthan Royals.

Cheating Case: In November 2023, Sreesanth and two others faced legal trouble as an FIR was filed against them in a cheating case. The complaint, filed by Chunda Kannapuram resident Sareesh Balagopalan, alleged that Sreesanth, along with Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, cheated him on three occasions, starting from April 25, 2019, with a total amount of Rs 18.7 lakh involved. The case was registered under IPC Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property). Some Lesser Known Facts About Sreesanth

  • Sreesanth, in the beginning, was a leg-spinner and considered Anil Kumble his role model, but his yorkers transformed him into a seamer later on.

  • For a short while in 2006, Sreesanth changed his name to Sreesunth due to the slump in his form, but he later changed it to Sreesanth due to the sentimental reasons.

  • After being slapped by off-spinner Harbhajan Singh at the end of IPL 2008, the seamer told in an interview, that everything between the two was fine while they had their dinner together. It was the media that aired the issue to a greater extent.

  • Sreesanth along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila was found guilty of spot-fixing in the 2013 season of IPL while playing for Rajasthan Royals. BCCI imposed life ban from cricket on Sreesanth.

  • He had always had the love for dance and after being thrown out of cricket, he began moving his limbs in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2014),Ā a dance reality show.
