Some Lesser Known Facts About Soniya Mehra
Soniya Mehra is an Emirati actress and yoga instructor. She has worked in many Bollywood films including Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012) and Ragini MMS 2 (2014).
Soniyaās biological mother, Kiran Mehra, is renowned actor Vinod Mehra ās third wife. Earlier, Vinod Mehra was married to veteran actress Rekha for a brief period of time but his marriage was fixed with producer Meena Broca; however, the marriage ended later and Vinod fell in love with former actress Bindiya Goswami and got married to her in 1980. In 1984, their marriage went kaput. In 1988, Mehra got married to Kiran Mehra; their marriage lasted for two years till Vinod Mehra passed away due to suffering from a heart attack in October 1990.

Soniya was two years old when her father passed away. Later, Soniya along with her mother and brother, Rohan, moved to Kenya to stay with her maternal grandparents.
Soniya spent most of her childhood in London and Kenya.
Soniya first began practising ballet dancing at the age of 5. In addition to this, she is skilled in many other dance forms, such as jazz, hip-hop, belly dancing, and Kathak.
She started her studies in music and theatrical arts in London when she was nine years old.
She won the Gold Medal in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Artsā Acting Examination.
Soniya once shared in an Instagram video how Yoga helped her deal with mental health issues which she began facing in childhood.
She was 17 years old when she moved to Mumbai and joined a three-month acting course at Actor Prepares, Anupam Kher ās acting school.
Soniya took a break from acting for three years afterĀ the release of the Bollywood film Victoria No. 203 (2007).
In 2009, she played the role of Priya S. Shankar in the film Shadow, which was directed by Rohit Nayyar. In 2012, she played the role of Anusha in the film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan .

Soniyaās beliefs are more oriented towards spirituality, and she frequently engages in Reiki therapy and other complementary therapies. In November 2010, Soniya got verified in practising Reiki, which is a Japanese healing practice that she believes changed her life, perception, and way of living. In June 2015, she completed an advanced course in Reiki Healing.
