Sonal Chouhan is an Indian software developer.
She is best known for being the girlfriend of the 2018 UPSC Topper Kanishak Kataria , who, after the results of the 2018 UPSC Examination, had publicly taken her name while addressing to media.
Sonal was born and raised into a modest family in Rajasthan’s Sirohi District.
After her schooling, she started preparing for IIT JEE Examination and after clearing the exam, she got admission at IIT Bombay, where she did B.Tech in Computer Science. It was there at IIT Bombay where she met Kanishak Kataria who was also pursuing his B.Tech in Computer Science.
During her B.Tech at IIT Bombay, Sonal did her summer internship at Housing.com (from May 2012 to June 2012) and BMC Software (from May 2013 to June 2013).

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, Sonal started working with Rakuten Inc., a Japanese electronic commerce and Internet company based in Tokyo, as a Software Developer.
